I ran as hard as I could in the heat and the sun and that was just the best I had today. I slowed down in the end but so did everyone else. No one passed me last 2 miles. But I dropped off the 8 min pace I was running. It was a hilly, sunny and hot course. I would like to think that I can run 8 min miles for a 10k. Today though I had 4.5 miles at that pace then I was just done. Sides were crampy for most of the race.

The advantage of being old is that time still won a pie.

So your going to do the Philly full, good on you! Will this be a Boston Qualifying run? What is your BQ qualification time?

Way to get through a 10k in the heat with a very good time! Remember...."PPPPPP", Just do it!

Will take a shot at a qualifying time. I think it should be close but then again I thought I could run 8's today. Qualifying time is 4 hours.

Good luck at Philly, go get that BQ! You can make that 4 hour mark (actually 3:55:58) with a steady 9 min/mi pace....
