72 and humid at 5 am. Feeling a bit better. 8 at 9:22 average. That's supposed to be my training pace. I was still working too hard at that pace. But it's still good to see it come down. I was thinking today that I have slowed about a min every decade. Some is due to life. I don't have the time to run like I did in my teens and 20's. Work, pregnancy, kids take the blame for the slow down in the 30's and 40's. Now that the kids are getting older I have a little more flexibility and my times have mostly stabilized. It would be nice to keep racing in the 8's for the rest of this decade. Frankly it will be great just to keep running healthy. |
